Nuncio is a native macOS app for people who live in more than one Gmail account.
It puts every Gmail and Google Workspace account side by side in one lightweight window, each in its own isolated session, showing the genuine Gmail web interface. Labels, filters, search syntax, snooze, Chat and Meet behave exactly as they do in a browser, because it is Gmail.
What it adds around Gmail
- Isolated storage per account, comparable to separate browser profiles, so sessions never mix and a link always opens in the account you are in. No more landing in the wrong inbox because Google numbered your accounts /u/0 and /u/1.
- Native macOS notifications per account. Click one and that exact message opens in the right account, with no browser running.
- An unread badge per account and one total on the Dock icon, each switchable.
- Switching with a click or Command 1 to Command 9, with every inbox staying loaded, so nothing reloads.
- Google tools per account as tabs next to the inbox: Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Chat, Contacts, Keep and Photos.
- A floating account panel that hovers above other apps in every Space and respects macOS Focus.
- It can be your default mail app: email links open a Gmail compose window, and with several accounts it asks which one should send.
What it deliberately is not
No combined inbox, no offline mode, no workspaces or app library, no AI assistant, no IMAP or other providers. It does Gmail and the Google tools that belong with it, and nothing else.
Privacy
Nuncio has no servers and no accounts of its own, so there is no infrastructure that could receive your mail. You sign in on Google's own page and the app never sees your password. Usage statistics are off until you switch them on.
Requirements and price
macOS 14 Sonoma or later on a Mac with Apple silicon. A yearly subscription with a seven-day free trial, sold through the Mac App Store. The download is about 2.4 MB, because it uses the WebKit engine built into macOS instead of bundling a browser of its own.
